At the corner of Mill Road and Strode Road is the former Rudlens Shoe Factory constructed in 1898. It was taken over by Sudborough & Wood in 1936 and in use as a closing room as late as 1972 (M. J. Dainty?). Most recently it was a location for one of the FOOT STEPS installations.
